Puu Jih Shih Temple is one of Sandakan's most recognizable landmarks, set on a hill overlooking the town and bay. The temple complex includes a grand prayer hall, lush gardens, and a striking seven-storey pagoda that visitors can ascend. Each floor of the pagoda houses Buddhist relics and offers increasingly panoramic vistas. The temple's peaceful atmosphere, with chanting and incense, provides a spiritual respite. Colorful murals and statues of Buddha and bodhisattvas adorn the grounds, making it a photographer's delight.
