Perched atop St. Paul's Hill, this 16th-century church ruin is one of Malacca's most iconic landmarks. Originally built by a Portuguese captain, it later served as a burial ground for the Dutch. Visitors can explore the roofless nave and weathered tombstones, then climb to the hilltop for sweeping views over the historic city center and the strait. The open-air structure and the nearby statue of St. Francis Xavier make it a serene spot for reflection and photography.

Don't miss

  • Statue of St. Francis Xavier, erected in 1952, marking his connection to the site
  • Panoramic views of Malacca city and the Strait of Malacca from the hilltop
  • Ancient Portuguese and Dutch tombstones embedded in the church walls
