My partner and I celebrated our anniversary here traveling from Australia. The food was absolutely fantastic, flavorful, visually done well and did not have to wait too long for each dish. Every dish had some excellent flavor surprises. Both servers were on the ball with excellent recommendations. Thank you to Minerva and Tarek for making our evening extra special. Hopefully when we come to KL again we can come visit again! Another successful dinner date for us.
Sensational food! I went there for my birthday and had an unforgettably wonderful evening. The cocktails were absolutely fantastic, and the food was on a level that truly rivaled Michelin-starred cuisine. The service was incredibly attentive and warm, especially Tarik, who expertly guided us through the menu—from cocktail recommendations to appetizers and the main course. At the end, the restaurant surprised us with a lovely birthday greeting, a chocolate dessert, and even a little serenade. My husband and I had an amazing evening that truly left nothing to be desired!
We stayed in the Westin, and the Bonvoy app recommended we try Manja. We are so glad it did! When we arrived at 6.30pm we were the only ones there - but an hour later it was full. The staff were both friendly and attentive, and (as all food is prepared fresh) they were happy adjust the spicing to suit us. We enjoyed gin and rum cocktails we'd never had before, fabulous appetisers of mushroom butter and escargot butter on deliciously-light toast, and superb Malaysian mains (butter fish, and a mix of seafood, egg, rice, toasted coconut and deep fried mushrooms. A reasonably-priced Pinot Grigio helped it all down. Our last meal in KL,and definitely the best.
This restaurant served the worst food of the entire 9 days I was in Malaysia (including cafes, street food, restaurants with lower ratings etc ), and it was also the most expensive. There were no other customers at the restaurant (which was a red flag for me), so the waiter pushed us to order appetizers. We all had the Chili Lime Fish Cake. Unfortunately, it had almost no flavor and was very dry. So dry that it crumbled as you tried to cut it. So onto the main meal...Their Sarawak Black Pepper Rib-eye at RM 139 was tough and cold and had been prepared with little to no skill at all. I was so disappointed. I had previously eaten at a couple of the other restaurants in this precinct as it was close to my hotel and each of the others was very good or better. I think those previous experiences also highlighted how poor the food was at Manja.
