The place gives an old Chinese Restaurant vibe which is perfect for Instagram! The place is very clean. The staff is very helpful and accommodating. We ordered the Laksa and Beef Rendang and they were very good! Very rich in flavor and very tasty! The prices are just right.
The place is situated opposite of Fairfield Marriott. Will not recommend to go for a walk around petaling street after dinner as it feels unsafe. Restaurant has the old school feels. Ordered the De’Rozelle drink which we love. Best dishes in our opinions are sambal petai sotong and asam fish. The chap chye could have been left to simmer for abit longer as the vegetables were slightly harder and the flavours are not fully absorbed by the vegetables yet. Wouldn’t recommend the bobo cha cha as it’s too sweet.
What a great find just across the street from Four Points by Marriot on Jalan Balai Polis Rd. A quaint little restaurant that dates back to the 40’s or so. Serves Southeast Asian cuisine that is a combination of Straits Chinese and Malay delicacies. I had the beef rendang with coconut blue rice, the best version I’ve had of this dish. For dessert we had the sago gula Melaka, which is like a tapioca-very nicely done. The pricing is very reasonable. The setting is simple and classic and I thought romantic. the beautiful wooden tables with marble tops made me wonder about the history that had passed thru this place. The ambience was made even more enjoyable because the music was from the 20’s. Great for couples
Lovely restaurant with hints of its colonial history. Great menu choices. The Nasi Melak was perfect. Staff were extremely helpful. We really enjoyed our traditional Malayan dishes.
