Penang Hill is a 833-meter-high ridge that provides sweeping views of George Town, the mainland, and the sea. Visitors ascend via the Penang Hill funicular railway, one of the steepest tunnel tracks in the world. At the top, you'll find colonial-era bungalows, a small mosque and Hindu temple, and the Habitat, a nature trail with a canopy walk. The cool air and lush surroundings offer a refreshing escape from the city heat, especially at sunrise or sunset.
Don't miss
- Ride the funicular railway for a steep, scenic ascent through tropical forest
- Walk the Curtis Crest Treetop Walk for 360-degree views from a circular canopy platform
- Explore the Habitat's nature trails and spot native flora like the Penang pitcher plant
