Zahir Mosque, the state mosque of Kedah, is an architectural gem in Alor Setar. Its five striking black domes and intricate Moorish design make it one of Malaysia's most beautiful mosques. Visitors can admire the grand prayer hall, adorned with elegant arches and calligraphy, and experience the tranquil atmosphere. The mosque is also a cultural symbol, hosting the annual Quran reading competition. Non-Muslims are welcome outside prayer times, and modest dress is required.
