Guia Fortress is a 17th-century military complex atop Guia Hill, featuring a distinctive lighthouse and a small chapel. The lighthouse, built in 1865, is the oldest modern lighthouse on the Chinese coast and still guides ships today. The chapel contains beautiful frescoes and a statue of Our Lady of Guia. Visitors can climb the hill or take a cable car to explore the ramparts, enjoy views over the city, and learn about the site's role in Macau's defense. The fortress is a key component of the UNESCO Historic Centre of Macau.
Don't miss
- The Guia Lighthouse, a landmark visible from across the city
- The chapel's original frescoes depicting religious and maritime themes
- Panoramic views of Macau's peninsula and the South China Sea
