The Leontes Bridge, also known as the Litani Bridge, is a remarkable Roman stone bridge that crosses the Litani River just north of Tyre. Built in the 3rd or 4th century AD, it originally carried the coastal road linking the major Phoenician cities. The bridge features three arches, with the central one spanning the river, and is constructed from large limestone blocks. Visitors can walk across the bridge and admire its sturdy construction, which has withstood centuries of floods and earthquakes. It offers a tangible connection to Roman engineering and ancient travel routes.
