The Temple of Eshmun is an archaeological site just northeast of Sidon, dedicated to the Phoenician god of healing. Set on a hillside overlooking the Awali River, the sanctuary features a grand staircase, a large stone throne (likely for the god), and intricate mosaics. Excavations have revealed a mix of Phoenician, Persian, and Hellenistic influences, including a marble basin for ritual purification.
