Nahr Ibrahim, also known as the Adonis River, is a scenic river valley in the mountains near Byblos. The river flows through a steep gorge, creating several waterfalls and natural pools that are ideal for hiking and picnicking. The area is rich in mythology: according to legend, the river's red color (due to soil erosion) was said to be the blood of Adonis, the lover of Aphrodite. Visitors can hike along the riverbanks, swim in the cool pools, and explore the surrounding pine and oak forests. The valley offers a refreshing escape into nature, with the sound of rushing water and birdsong.
