The Byblos Fossil Museum displays an extensive collection of fossils unearthed in Lebanon and the surrounding region, with a focus on the famous Cretaceous limestone deposits of Hakel and Hajula. Visitors can view well-preserved specimens of fish, rays, sharks, turtles, and even rare pterosaurs and birds, all embedded in stone slabs. The museum’s intimate setting allows for close-up observation of the fine details, such as scales and fins, and provides insight into the ancient marine environments that once covered the area.
