Housed in a striking 19th-century arsenal building within Daugavpils Fortress, the Mark Rothko Art Centre is the only museum in Eastern Europe dedicated to the abstract expressionist painter. Visitors can view several original Rothko paintings alongside rotating exhibitions of modern and contemporary art.
