Ulpiana is an ancient Roman and Byzantine archaeological site founded in the 2nd century AD, located about 12 kilometers southeast of Pristina. Excavations have revealed a forum, basilicas, city walls, and a baptistery with well-preserved mosaic floors depicting Christian symbols. Visitors can walk among the ruins and imagine life in this once-thriving provincial capital, which was an important center on the Roman road connecting the Adriatic to the Balkans. The site offers a tangible connection to Kosovo's classical past, with ongoing digs occasionally uncovering new artifacts.
