Housed in a striking 1908 wooden building that once served as a military assembly hall, the Kazakh Museum of Folk Musical Instruments offers an auditory journey through the nation's musical heritage. The collection features over 1,000 instruments, including the dombra (a two-stringed lute), kobyz (a bowed instrument), and the jetigen (a zither-like instrument). Visitors can see intricate craftsmanship and even hear recordings of traditional melodies. The museum also hosts live performances, bringing the instruments to life.

  • A rare kobyz said to have belonged to the legendary musician Qorqyt
  • Interactive audio stations where you can listen to traditional Kazakh music
