The Central Mosque of Almaty is a modern Islamic place of worship that opened in 1999, replacing an older mosque. Its most distinctive feature is the large blue dome, visible from afar, flanked by four tall minarets. The interior is spacious and adorned with intricate geometric patterns and calligraphy. The mosque can accommodate up to 7,000 worshippers, making it a central hub for the Muslim community. Visitors are welcome outside prayer times, and the peaceful courtyard offers a quiet retreat from the city bustle. Non-Muslims can explore the main prayer hall while respecting local customs.
