Dawson Field, also known as the 'Revolution Airport,' is a disused airstrip located about 30 kilometers from Zarqa. It gained notoriety in September 1970 when members of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine hijacked three airliners and forced them to land here. The aircraft were subsequently blown up after passengers were evacuated, marking a dramatic episode in the history of aviation and Middle East conflict. Today, the site is largely abandoned, with remnants of the runway and scattered wreckage serving as a somber historical landmark.
