The Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building is the seat of Tokyo's city government, located in Shinjuku. It consists of three structures, the tallest being a 48-story tower that splits into two sections at the 33rd floor. The building's design resembles an integrated circuit and evokes a Gothic cathedral. It is the tallest city hall in the world.

A bit of history
It replaced the old city hall at Yūrakuchō, which was built in 1957 and also designed by Tange. At 242.9 meters, it was the tallest building by roof height in Tokyo until 2007. In February 2024, it was recognized by Guinness World Records for having the world's largest projection mapping display.
