Fushimi Castle, also known as Momoyama Castle, is a reconstructed fortress in Uji that played a pivotal role in the unification of Japan under Toyotomi Hideyoshi. The original castle was built in the 1590s, but the current structure dates from 1964. Inside, a museum displays artifacts and exhibits on the castle's history and the Azuchi-Momoyama period. Visitors can climb to the top floor for panoramic views of Kyoto and the surrounding hills. The castle's hilltop setting and adjacent gardens make it a pleasant spot for a leisurely visit.
