Sushi Yoshitake, located in the heart of Tokyo, Japan, is a culinary gem that offers an unforgettable sushi experience. With its Michelin 3-star status, this intimate restaurant boasts only 10 seats, allowing for personalized attention from Chef Masahiro Yoshitake himself. Diners rave about the exceptional quality of the sushi, with highlights including the melt-in-your-mouth fatty tuna and the otherworldly mackerel. The ambiance is both serene and engaging, as guests can observe the meticulous preparation of each dish. However, some visitors have noted that the service can be inconsistent, with a few reports of unwelcoming staff. Despite this, Sushi Yoshitake remains a must-visit for sushi lovers seeking an authentic taste of Japan, making it a fantastic option for couples, families, and solo travelers alike. Reservations are essential due to its popularity.

Overall very disappointed with the experience. Not easy to get a booking, nor worth the price. The lady wearing the suit was extremely rude. Within seconds of sitting down she approach in a loud, unfriendly manner advising we couldn’t take photos. When we showed her the booking confirmation advising we “can” take photos of the “food only” she aggressively took my phone away to check the email confirmation contents. Even after reading it she continued to say “No photos”. For the price and reputation of this restaurant, there should be a level of professional service delivered to enhance the experience. This lady ruined the reputation and experience within minutes. I wouldn’t recommend visiting this restaurant unless the owner reads this review and ensures only the best staff are hired to enhance the experience not degrade it.
We ate here in April of 2024. Yoshitake served us from start to finish and put on a great show. His English is quite good too. The sushi was the best we have ever had and the service really is 3 stars. Our expectations were high and the team met everyone of them. The fatty tuna was amazing but our favorite was his mackerel. Apparently we have never had good mackerel because this was otherworldly. We even got to talk to him for a bit at the end 1:1 which was amazing. Very chill experience and a bucket list establishment for us as well. Highly recommend for all occasions. Dress and atmosphere is whatever you want too.
I never thought I’d say this but this was the best Sushi meal that I’ve ever had. Chef Yoshitake San was in his element. He is in command of the room. A counter for 8. His presence is felt and observed. His attention to detail is flawless. It’s theatre at its best. People were in awe. My son who is a foodie and knows more than I do about Japanese food thought it was epic… Every sushi dish was 10 out of 10. The squid, tuna and Uni were 11 out of 10! It deserves the 3 Michelin stars. The service was perfect. The Tamago maybe could have been a touch better for a 3 star, we had a dry end cut but this did not in any way dampen our enthusiasm and appreciation of a great meal. Thank you Yoshitake San and well done…
Is it good ? Yes it is the products are super fresh Nicely presented with some innovation ,but! I am maybe too picky but I was expecting more innovation or surprises. , the service is good but not of a 3 * Michelin restaurant, My favorite dish was the Uni , absolutely fantastic One stupid point in my opinion you can not take pictures of the dishes ! Why?
