Takayama Castle was originally built in the 16th century, but today only its stone foundations and a few reconstructed structures remain within Shiroyama Park. The site offers a glimpse into feudal-era architecture and defensive design. Visitors can climb to the former keep's base for a commanding view of the city. The castle's history is tied to the Kanamori clan, who ruled the region. Informational signs in Japanese and English explain the layout and significance.
