The Honjō Kofun Cluster comprises several ancient burial mounds dating from the Kofun period (c. 3rd–6th centuries). These earthen tombs, varying in shape and size, are key archaeological sites that reveal the social hierarchy and burial customs of early Japan. Visitors can walk among the mounds, some of which are keyhole-shaped, and observe the distinct moats and earthworks that surround them. The site is less developed than major kofun parks, providing a more intimate encounter with these ancient structures. Interpretive signs help explain the significance of each mound.
