Magome-juku was the 43rd station on the Nakasendo highway, connecting Edo (Tokyo) with Kyoto. Today, it charms visitors with its restored wooden inns, shops, and water mills lining a steep, cobbled main street. The village offers a glimpse into 17th-century travel life, with beautiful views of the surrounding Kiso Valley. Many visitors walk the 8 km forested trail to Tsumago-juku, passing waterfalls and rural scenery.
