Kongōbu-ji is the administrative and spiritual headquarters of Shingon Buddhism, located on Mount Kōya. The temple's main attraction is the Banryūtei rock garden, Japan's largest, with 140 granite stones arranged to resemble dragons rising from clouds. Inside, visitors can view exquisite fusuma (sliding door) paintings by Kanō school artists and ornate gold-leafed rooms. The temple also offers shukubo lodging for an immersive experience.
