Usui Bridge is a striking red brick railway viaduct that once carried trains over the Usui Pass. Today, it stands as a testament to early 20th-century engineering, with its elegant arches spanning a deep gorge. Visitors can walk along a path beside the bridge, taking in sweeping views of the forested hills and, on clear days, distant Mount Asama. The structure is particularly photogenic in autumn when the foliage frames the brickwork.

Don't miss

  • Walk the path alongside the viaduct for unobstructed views of the gorge and mountains.
  • Photograph the bridge from the designated viewpoint at the base of the valley.
  • Visit in autumn to see the red bricks contrast with vibrant fall foliage.
