The Historic Monuments and Sites of Hiraizumi include five components: Chūson-ji, Mōtsū-ji, Kanjizaiō-in, Muryōkō-in, and the Mount Kinkeizan site. Together, they represent the political and religious center of the Ōshū Fujiwara clan during the 12th century.
