Kamikawa Shrine is one of Asahikawa's oldest Shinto shrines, established in 1883 during the early settlement of Hokkaido. Situated close to the city center, it offers a peaceful retreat with a classic shrine layout, including a wooden main hall and a tall torii gate. Visitors can participate in traditional Shinto practices like making offerings or buying omamori (charms). The shrine is especially atmospheric during New Year's celebrations and local festivals, when the grounds come alive with activity.
