A bit of history

Construction of Palazzo Strozzi began in 1489 under architect Giuliano da Sangallo, commissioned by Filippo Strozzi the Elder. It remained in the Strozzi family until 1937, when it was sold to the state. It opened as an exhibition space in the 1990s after restoration.
