Manarola is one of the most photographed villages in Cinque Terre, famous for its cascade of pastel-colored houses tumbling down a steep hillside to a small harbor. The village is built on a rocky promontory, and its main street, Via Discovolo, is lined with restaurants, gelaterias, and shops. The harbor area, with its tiny beach and boat slips, is perfect for swimming and watching the sunset. A popular walkway leads to a viewpoint above the village, offering classic postcard views. Manarola is also known for its wine production, especially Sciacchetrà, and you can visit local vineyards. The Church of San Lorenzo, with its Gothic facade and rose window, stands at the top of the village. At night, the village is beautifully lit, and during the Christmas season, a large nativity scene is illuminated on the hillside.
