Sacro Monte di Ossuccio, part of the 'Sacri Monti' of Piedmont and Lombardy UNESCO World Heritage site, is a devotional complex of 14 Baroque chapels winding up a hillside overlooking Lake Como. Built between 1635 and 1710, the chapels depict the Mysteries of the Rosary, with life-sized painted terracotta statues and frescoes illustrating scenes from the lives of Jesus and Mary. The path climbs through olive groves and woodland, offering peaceful spots for reflection and panoramic lake views. The final chapel crowns the hill near the Sanctuary of the Madonna del Soccorso, a 16th-century church. This site is less crowded than other attractions, providing a serene cultural and spiritual experience.
