Gallodoro is a small, picturesque village perched on a hilltop in the Peloritani mountains, offering some of the most stunning views in the Taormina area. From its elevated position, visitors can gaze across the Ionian Sea to the Calabrian coast and, on clear days, see the snow-capped peak of Mount Etna rising in the distance. The village itself is a quiet retreat with narrow winding streets, traditional stone houses, and a peaceful atmosphere far from the tourist crowds. Gallodoro is known for its agricultural heritage, particularly olive oil and citrus fruits. A visit here feels like stepping back in time, with locals still practicing age-old farming methods. The main square, Piazza Umberto I, is a lovely spot to enjoy a coffee and take in the scenery.
