Santi Simone e Giuda is a modest 13th-century church tucked away on a quiet street in Spoleto's historic center. Dedicated to the apostles Simon and Jude, the church is a hidden gem for art lovers, thanks to its cycle of Gothic frescoes that adorn the apse and side walls. Painted by local Umbrian artists in the 14th and 15th centuries, the frescoes depict scenes from the lives of Christ, the Virgin Mary, and the patron saints. The interior is intimate and softly lit, allowing visitors to appreciate the delicate colors and expressive figures. The church also retains its original wooden roof and a simple stone altar. Despite its artistic importance, Santi Simone e Giuda remains off the main tourist trail, offering a quiet moment of reflection.
