Scaligero Castle is a stunning medieval fortress that juts out into Lake Garda, surrounded by a deep moat and complete with towering battlements. Visitors can cross the drawbridge and explore the inner courtyards, climb the main tower for sweeping views of the lake and Sirmione's historic center, and walk along the fortified walls. The castle's distinctive Ghibelline merlons and its position at the entrance to the old town make it one of Italy's most photogenic castles. Inside, a small museum displays medieval weapons and artifacts, but the real highlight is the panorama from the top.
