The Basilica of San Salvatore dei Fieschi is a hidden gem in the small town of Cogorno, a short drive from Sestri Levante. Built in the 13th century, this Romanesque church is renowned for its harmonious proportions and well-preserved frescoes. The exterior is characterized by a simple yet elegant stone facade with a rose window and a bell tower. Inside, the nave is decorated with vibrant 14th-century frescoes depicting scenes from the life of Christ and the Virgin Mary, painted by local Ligurian artists.
