Monte Rocchetta is a rugged mountain on the western side of Lake Garda, near Riva del Garda. Its hiking trails lead through dense forests and rocky terrain to a summit marked by a large cross. From the top, you get a bird's-eye view of the lake's northern shore, the town of Riva del Garda, and the surrounding peaks. The hike is less crowded than some other local trails, offering a peaceful escape into nature. The path is well-maintained but includes some steep and exposed sections, making it a good challenge for intermediate hikers. Along the way, you might spot chamois and eagles. The summit cross is a popular photo spot, especially at sunset when the light paints the lake gold. Monte Rocchetta is also part of the larger Garda Trentino hiking network, connecting to other trails for longer excursions.

Don't miss

  • Summit cross with panoramic views of Lake Garda and Riva del Garda
  • WWI trenches and fortifications along the trail
  • Wildlife spotting: chamois, eagles, and marmots
  • Sunset views from the summit
