Molina di Ledro is a charming village situated at the northern tip of Lago di Ledro, about 15 km from Riva del Garda. It is best known for the Museo delle Palafitte, a museum dedicated to the prehistoric pile-dwelling settlements that were discovered here in the 1920s. These stilt houses, dating back to the Bronze Age, are a UNESCO World Heritage site. The museum offers an immersive experience with reconstructed dwellings and artifacts, including pottery, tools, and wooden items preserved in the lake's peat. Beyond the museum, Molina di Ledro is a gateway to outdoor activities: the crystal-clear Lago di Ledro is perfect for swimming, kayaking, and paddleboarding in summer, while the surrounding mountains offer hiking and biking trails. The village itself has a few cafes and restaurants serving local Trentino cuisine, and the nearby waterfall, Cascata del Ponale, is a scenic spot. The area is less crowded than Riva del Garda, making it ideal for a peaceful day trip.
