The Sirenuse, also called Li Galli, are a small archipelago of three islands, Gallo Lungo, La Castelluccia, and La Rotonda, located just off the Amalfi Coast near Positano. In Greek mythology, these were the islands of the Sirens, whose enchanting songs lured sailors to their doom. Today, they are a protected marine area and private property, visible from Positano's beaches and viewpoints. The islands' rugged cliffs, turquoise waters, and lush Mediterranean vegetation create a striking seascape. Boat tours from Positano or Amalfi often circle the islands, offering close-up views of the coastline and the chance to swim in secluded coves. The largest island, Gallo Lungo, features a historic watchtower and a villa once owned by Russian dancer Rudolf Nureyev. The Sirenuse remain a symbol of the region's natural beauty and mythological heritage.
