Il Gallo Lungo is the largest of the three islands that make up the Li Galli archipelago, situated off the coast of Positano. The island is privately owned and not open to the public, but it is a striking sight from boat tours and coastal viewpoints. Its rugged cliffs are dotted with Mediterranean vegetation, and a small villa built by the last private owner, Rudolf Nureyev, perches on the highest point. The villa is said to have a dance studio with panoramic windows. The island's name, meaning 'long rooster', refers to its elongated shape. The surrounding waters are crystal clear, ideal for snorkeling. Boat tours often circle the island, providing photo opportunities and a glimpse of the exclusive retreat.
