San Domenico is one of the largest Gothic churches in Umbria, located just outside Perugia's historic center. Its unfinished facade reveals the original stonework, while the interior impresses with its vast nave and the stunning 14th-century rose window, one of the largest in Italy. The church houses the elaborate tomb of Pope Benedict XI, who died in Perugia in 1304. Other notable features include the carved wooden choir stalls and several side chapels with frescoes and altarpieces. The adjacent cloister now houses the Museo Archeologico Nazionale dell'Umbria. Visitors can explore the church's serene atmosphere and admire its architectural details.
