Pavia Cathedral (Duomo di Pavia) is a magnificent Renaissance church located in the city center, dedicated to Saint Stephen. Construction began in the 15th century and continued for centuries, resulting in a blend of styles. The cathedral's most striking feature is its large dome, designed by Giovanni Antonio Amadeo and inspired by Bramante's work. The interior is spacious and light, with a nave flanked by side chapels containing artworks such as paintings by Bernardino Luini and a wooden crucifix by Giovanni Battista Crespi. The crypt houses the tomb of Saint Syrus, the city's patron saint. The cathedral also contains a museum with religious artifacts and vestments.
