Teatro Mancinelli is Orvieto's premier performing arts venue, a jewel of 19th-century architecture. Opened in 1868, the theater features a classic horseshoe-shaped auditorium with three tiers of boxes, all adorned with red velvet and gold leaf. The ceiling is painted with a fresco of muses and allegorical figures. Today, it hosts a varied program of opera, classical music, theater, and dance, as well as film screenings. Attending a performance here is a step back in time, offering an intimate cultural experience. Even without a show, visitors can admire the lobby and auditorium during guided tours.
