Manarola

Manarola is one of the most photographed villages in Cinque Terre, with its iconic cluster of pastel homes clinging to a rocky promontory. The village is built on a steep hillside, with narrow lanes leading down to a small harbor where fishing boats bob in the turquoise water. Manarola is particularly known for its wine production, especially the local Sciacchetrà dessert wine, and the surrounding terraced vineyards are a UNESCO World Heritage site. Visitors can enjoy a leisurely walk along the Via dell'Amore (Lover's Lane) to Riomaggiore, or hike up to the cemetery for a stunning panoramic view. The harbor area is perfect for a sunset aperitivo, with many locals gathering to watch the sun dip into the sea.
