The Cappella Palatina, or Palatine Chapel, is the jewel of the Palazzo dei Normanni. Built in the 12th century, it combines Norman, Byzantine, and Arab artistic traditions. The interior is covered in shimmering gold mosaics depicting biblical scenes, with a stunning wooden muqarnas ceiling painted with Islamic motifs. The marble floor and inlaid columns add to the opulence. The chapel is still used for religious services and is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
