Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II is a stunning 19th-century shopping arcade that connects Piazza del Duomo to Piazza della Scala. Known locally as 'il Salotto di Milano' (Milan's drawing room), it is one of the world's oldest shopping malls, featuring a soaring glass-vaulted roof and intricate mosaic floors. The arcade is lined with high-end boutiques, historic cafes, and restaurants. Visitors often stop to spin their heel on the mosaic bull's testicles for good luck, a popular tradition. The central octagonal space is crowned by a magnificent glass dome, and the four arms of the arcade are adorned with frescoes representing the four continents. At night, the arcade is beautifully lit, creating a magical atmosphere. It remains a vibrant hub for both locals and tourists, offering a blend of shopping, dining, and people-watching in an architectural masterpiece.
