The Spronser Lakes (Spronser Seen) are a stunning collection of alpine lakes nestled in the Texel Group Nature Park, about 15 kilometers from Merano. There are seven main lakes, each with its own character, ranging from deep blue to emerald green. The area is a paradise for hikers, with trails that connect the lakes and offer spectacular views of the surrounding peaks. The most popular route is the Spronser Lakes Trail, a moderate 12-kilometer loop that takes you past several lakes and through lush meadows. Along the way, you'll encounter alpine flora and possibly wildlife like marmots and chamois. The crystal-clear waters reflect the sky and mountains, creating perfect photo opportunities. The lakes are also a great spot for a picnic or a refreshing dip in summer.
