Teatro Carlo Felice is the principal opera house of Genoa, located in the heart of the city near Piazza De Ferrari. Originally built in 1828, the theatre was heavily damaged during World War II and later reconstructed with a modern interior while preserving its neoclassical façade. The auditorium features excellent acoustics and a traditional horseshoe shape with tiers of boxes. The season runs from autumn to spring, presenting a mix of classic Italian operas (especially Verdi and Puccini), ballets, and symphony concerts. The theatre also offers guided tours that take visitors backstage, into the royal box, and through the elegant foyers. Its central location makes it easy to combine a performance with a stroll through Genoa's historic center.
