The Neptune is a stunning full-scale replica of a 17th-century Spanish galleon, permanently docked in Genoa's Old Port. Built in 1986 for the film 'Pirates' (starring Roman Polanski), the ship is now a popular tourist attraction. Visitors can explore its three decks, including the captain's quarters, crew's mess, and the hold, which features cannons and period details. The ship offers a hands-on experience of maritime history, with interactive exhibits and costumed mannequins depicting life at sea. The highlight is the intricate woodwork and the sheer size of the vessel, which gives a sense of the grand voyages of the Age of Exploration. The location in the Old Port also provides easy access to other attractions like the Aquarium and the Bigo lift.
