Treuenstein Castle (Castel Fedele) is a modest ruin perched on a gentle hill among the vineyards of the Bolzano basin. Unlike the grander fortresses nearby, Treuenstein offers a peaceful, off-the-beaten-path experience. The main feature is a well-preserved tower that rises above the surrounding vines, providing a lovely backdrop for a stroll. Visitors can walk around the ruin, enjoy the panoramic views of the Dolomites and the Adige Valley, and combine the visit with a tasting at one of the local wineries. The site is especially beautiful in autumn when the vineyards turn gold and red. It's a perfect spot for a quiet picnic or a short hike.
