Arco del Meloncello is a grand Baroque arch built in the early 18th century, serving as the ceremonial gateway to the famous Portico di San Luca, the world's longest portico (3.8 km). The arch is located at the foot of the Colle della Guardia, where the portico begins its ascent to the Sanctuary of the Madonna di San Luca. The structure features a central arch flanked by two smaller pedestrian arches, with decorative stonework and a statue of the Madonna. Visitors often pause here to admire the architecture and take photos before starting the walk up the hill. The area is also a popular meeting point for pilgrims and joggers.
