Villa Melzi is a stunning neoclassical villa located on the eastern shore of Bellagio, surrounded by one of the most beautiful gardens on Lake Como. Built in the early 19th century for Duke Francesco Melzi d'Eril, the villa itself is not open to the public, but its expansive English-style gardens are a major attraction. Visitors can wander along tree-lined avenues, past statues, fountains, and a small lake, all while enjoying breathtaking views of the lake and the surrounding mountains. The garden is especially famous for its azaleas and rhododendrons, which bloom in a riot of color in late spring. A highlight is the Moorish-style kiosk and the chapel, which add exotic touches to the landscape. The peaceful atmosphere and carefully curated plantings make it a perfect spot for a leisurely afternoon.
