Named after the philosopher Empedocles, it serves as the main harbor for the area, with ferries to the Pelagie Islands (Lampedusa and Linosa). The town features a long promenade lined with palm trees, cafes, and restaurants serving fresh seafood. Visitors can watch fishing boats come and go, explore the small historic center, or relax on the sandy beach.
